Americans Retain the Cup with 10-10 Tie
2012 was another back and forth event with the Euros breaking out on top in the morning and the Americans once again using the singles matches to close the gap. Cislak and Bartow started off the American comeback with upset wins in their singles matches. As usual the event was very closely contested and not decided until late in the matches.
Individual honors for the Euros go to Rick James who recorded 3 wins on the day. The Americans again relied on Kim Hartung who came through with 3 wins including a critical point in the singles match - keeping his undefeated singles record in tact.
The American team has now successfully retained the Cup for 3 straight years - not quite a three-peat but the Cup stays with the Americans!
